Hello, fellow SVL residents. My name is Lewis Ponce (my friends know me as “JR”) and I would like to serve on the Spring Valley Lake Association Board of Directors as my next venture in Community Service.
My wife, Silvia, and I have lived in SVL since December 1994, first as renters and then we purchased the home we were renting in 1998. Even as renters we realized the uniqueness of the Spring Valley Lake community as a place to raise our two kids. Over the years we have witnessed the transition from what appeared to a retirement community to a very family-oriented neighborhood.
I have been involved in community service in numerous capacities over the years. I served on the Spring Valley Lake Little League Board as the Safety Officer from 2007-2015, University Preparatory (Victor Valley Unified High School District) President (2010-11 and 2011-12), 7-11 Committee Member (2013-14 VVUHSD), Academy for Academic Excellence AFJROTC Parent Volunteer, various activities (2011-2015), and on my church’s Finance Council from 07/2015 to present.
As a young man I worked construction and as a result of that experience I appreciate the importance of maintaining high standards for the homes in our community. Professionally I am a Registered Nurse with a BSN in Nursing and an MBA. In addition, I am a licensed Real Estate Agent. I look forward to using my experience to serve on the SVLA Board of Directors as a representative of the SVL community as it addresses the many challenges facing such a diverse community.
