The objective of the video monitoring system in Spring Valley Lake is the prevention of criminal acts in our community. Preventable criminal acts may include robberies, assaults, residential burglaries, car thefts and other violent crimes. The video monitoring system will assist law enforcement in solving and prosecuting a criminal act. In the event an offense is committed in SVL, law enforcement will have access to recorded video evidence of the individual or individuals who may have perpetrated such crime. The system is an additional tool that will help to supplement the safety and security of Spring Valley Lake. The program will work in conjunction with the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department, the California Highway Patrol, Spring Valley Lake Public Safety, the Sheriff's Department Citizens on Patrol Program, and the SVL Neighborhood Watch Program.
Project Safeguards:
The video monitoring system only records images that are in the public right of way and of Spring Valley Lake Association owned property, where by law there is no expectation of privacy. Generally, the recorded data is only for law enforcement use. The monitoring system does not limit or restrict in any way access to our community. It merely monitors and records the coming & going of people and vehicles in the community of Spring Valley Lake. (Read More)
